WORKPACK 1 – PRINCIPLES AND ELEMENTS OF ART
BASELINE TEST AND MEMO: A useful tool to determine the art information that the learner has retained from previous grades according to the CAPS syllabus. Memo and rubric are included.
WORKBOOK NOTES: ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF ART: A simple reference guide for the learners to paste in their workbooks.
LESSON PLAN: CONTOUR LINES: An exercise on shape, line and colour. Guide the learners through this concept with easy-to-follow instructions and a pre-printed design to complete.
POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS: Concise, easy-to-follow visual presentations, with text and images to reinforce the basic concepts of art.

WORKPACK 2: COLOUR THEORY
LESSON PLAN: COLOUR THEORY: Understand the colour wheel: primary, secondary and tertiary colours and what the complementary colours are.
LESSON PLAN: MONOCHROME: Tints, shades, tones and understanding the difference between them.

WORKPACK 3: STILL LIFE
LESSON PLAN: DEFINING AREAS OF LIGHT AND SHADE – Spheres: An introductory explanation of how light and shade make a 3D object appear realistic in 2D, and the identification of those areas in a photograph.
LESSON PLAN: DEFINING AREAS OF LIGHT AND SHADE – Green Peppers: An extension of the previous lesson. Learners are given a “breakdown image” in which they appropriately shade the defined areas.
LESSON PLAN: STILL LIFE WITH FIGURINES: This lesson completes the module on Still Life. An example of a Still Life arrangement is provided that the learners can complete. The use of Landscape and Portrait orientation of paper is also discussed.
