Local Craft and Crafters

We’ve taken out some of the legwork needed for this Term’s Formal Assessment.

These notes provide information on two potteries in South Africa – Ardmore Ceramics and Mukondeni Pottery, and is designed for use with the Craft and Crafter’s Questionnaire. There is background information on the people who created them and the crafts they produce, as well as an easy-to-understand section on the process of modern pottery-making.

Included are useful links to YouTube videos and e-book chapters for teachers and learners who want to know more about the subject.
